I have had the problem of the filters smelling like mildew after a month or so of light use. The reason why this would happen is that I wasn't using the pitcher frequently enough. The solution I found after much trial and error, is to keep the jug in the fridge (even put it in empty - I don't like cold water personally) during the day when at work, or if not planning to use for a while. This extends the life of the filter a lot... it takes much longer for the mildew smell to start. I am going on 6 weeks with a filter now, and its just like new.Any standing water will eventually grow something. So use it a lot, and when you aren't using it for extended periods put it in the fridge.If you have any issues with your purchase, just email zero water. They will make sure you are happy, and are very prompt and efficient with solving issues.

No scale in appliances, ice taste is pristine, it will even filter wine into a light pink water. The zero water is my go to as I never had much faith or trust in the city water. Everyone thought I was being excessive but recently the city disclosed that there may in fact be lead in the water and began distributing these filters to residents! It removes virtually everything from the water so if you need the minerals you can add them in afterwards.

This filters the most amazing filter I've ever used. Only one slight fault. I find it plugged up easy. So I replace it every couple of weeks. It's still cheaper than bottled water and healthier.

Après de nombreuses investigations, il s'avère que ces filtre retiendrait tout ou partie, du glyphosate largement répandu sur les terres agricoles. Il faut penser que ce pesticide s'enfonce dans le sol et le contamine. Avec la persistance des traitements toxiques, on peut estimer que ce produit gagne les nappes phréatiques d'où émergent nos rivières et nos sources dont l'eau arrive dans nos robinets et que nous buvons ou cuisinons avec.L'ébullition ne retire rien, la distillation est un remède efficace mais dont l'usage est difficile et l'eau filtrée a un goût très désagréable.Il m'a paru que ce filtre était un moyen terme relativement efficace.

bonjour,j utilise un distillateur afin d éliminer certains microbes et bactéries grâce au filtre charbon interchangeable , ensuite je verse l eau dans ma carafe qui contient ces filtres qui suppriment les métaux lourds et le fluoride .......c est cher.......mais ma santé n a pas de prix !

I will add my voice to the many reviews from 2019 who got knockoffs that looked authentic, came sealed in a ZeroWater bag, but were completely ineffective filters, with brown water coming out of them, with a bad odor. I suspect that someone got their hands on a bunch of old used ZeroWater filters and repackaged them for resale. I bought the bad filters from Amazon, but the seller was called WHOLESALE TO PUBLIC. In the past, via Amazon, I bought—successfully!—from Beverly Figueroat and Cheddy, Your Austin Store and Shopping Solutions. I see now when I go to buy replacements, Amazon says that Amazon is the seller. That's a good plan. Amazon should be getting its filters straight from ZeroWater, so they're certified, not counterfeit. It runs down ZeroWater's reputation too, when people get bad filters, even if ZeroWater had no control over it. Now that I've said all that . . . I do love the ZeroWater system. I live in a spot where, coming out of the tap, the water is something like 450 ppm. I can't put that in my coffee maker, or it'll ruin the machine in a matter of months. It's also not great for something like a WaterPik, or anything else with small water channels. We get reports on the water, and mostly the mineral content is fine in terms of health, but the flavor is distinctly better when it's been through a ZeroWater filter. The little water-testing wands are super, and convenient, and I have checked them against fancy lab equipment where I work, and they are accurate. I double-filter my water to get longer life from each filter: Use an old filter in a pitcher first to knock the tap water TDS down to about 150 ppm, then put that in the dispenser and filter it down to 0 ppm. When the filter in the dispenser creeps up to a 6 or 7 ppm output, I swap it for a new one, and put the old one in the pitcher to prefilter. This has been a great cycle for us for the past year or so. (The bad box of filters was the first bad set I got.) I can usually tell from the taste of the water when we're getting close to replacement time. There's an ammoniac odor that starts coming up from the filter even before the TDS hits 6 or 7 ppm. The water gets a flavor too. I suspect that the multistage filter is good at getting out particulates and a lot of minerals, but there's probably some chlorine or something that gets through, in tiny amounts, and over time it builds up. I don't know—haven't researched it. But I do really like the system. Coffee maker is working great, and for the dishwasher and washing machine we use cleaning tablets to knock down the mineral problem. One of these days we'll get a better filter for the whole house, but for now the ZeroWater filters are a great solution for anything that's going to go into our bodies. (Makes pasta pots easier to clean too.)

We had bought Zero Water overall and then ordered these replacement filters. After about 2 weeks of using it, we started smelling something weird, FISHY, on our water bottles we fill and my poor mama thought it was that she hadn't cleaned that good enough or mixed something so she was apologizing. She changed the filter and the smell went away. Yet again, not even two weeks later and the same smell came back. I went to refill the actual container with the filter in it and when I lifted the top lid I smelled a hint of that same thing. When I lifted the whole inner piece the fishy smell FLOODED my nose!! It was disgusting! I hate the smell or taste of fish and this smelled wreaked!I researched a ton and found other forums and reviews saying this and people even contacted the company and were told they were fixing that issue. The reviews were a few years old. Guess what company? Not fixed! they make the excuse that the filters need changing but it seems more like a money sucking gimmick. You shouldn't have to change a filter THAT often that it wreaks that bad! I won't ever refer this to anyone else. Tap water and Britta is good enough for us after experiencing this. My mom just really wanted to try this and it FAILED.

When I first bought my ZeroWater pitcher and an extra filter about 3 years ago, I loved it. The flavor was exactly what I needed to be able to drink more water. The first filter that came with lasted about 6 weeks before the TDS measured above .006 I went through the first set of filters and bought a 4-pack. The first one lasted about 2 weeks. I thought it was a fluke and switched filters. When the second filter only lasted about 3 weeks, I got frustrated, cleaned the pitcher, and put it in storage. I wanted this filter to work so much that I tried it again. It's been about 3 weeks again and my water tastes sour. It's time to replace it again. This is not a sustainable alternative to bottled water if I need to replace the filters every 20 gallons. I'm going to invest in a Berkey like I should have done, to begin with.
