Not sure why so many people are breaking this. It works like a charm, I tested it on soft creamy cheese and varied through to old hard cheddar. I get the feeling people are too heavy handed with it, it's not a slicer, its a wire, cut smooth and steady. The arm is a little flimsy but it certainly doesn't feel like it will break. Good product, absolutely worth the price.

The shipping was super fast. The quality of the product is just ok. There is no real tension adjustment except to bend the bar outwards but then the wire rubs the side of the wire slot on the board. It takes some fine tuning to bend and adjust the wire position to make it line up right. But if the wire gets slack with use then it will be no good and the wire will have to be replaced. Hopefully it will last long. Only time will tell.11/08/2017: Review update: Had to lower my star rating to 1 start. Went through all three wires within 6 months of use. In fact, we bare used it as we only pulled it out to slice cheese every other week. The last wire broke after only a few uses. We only slice cheddar and mozzarella cheese with is not hard at all. There are no replacement wire to be purchased separately either so not I have no choice but to throw this away.

It does come with two replacement wires which is nice. And the marble slab has some weight to it. It comes in a nice box and makes for a nice gift.

El color verde-jade ofrece una distinción envidiable.El acabado de la piedra, el brazo cromado, el cilindro de piedra y el hilo cortador son... impecables.La inclusión de dos hilos de repuesto le agrega un valor extra.La base de piedra trae pegadas cuatro patitas de plástico que le ofrecen altura y facilitan la operación de cortado.Apenas lo desempaqueté me subyugó su apariencia. El amor a primera vista no es una expresión cursi ni un mito: se manifiesta y materializa en este producto.Ya lo he probado con un bloque de 850 gramos de queso maduro. El corte en cuatro partes fue enérgico y preciso.Absolutamente recomendable, pero sobre todo: infaltable para aquéllos que, adquiriendo un buen bloque de queso, lo reverenciamos con un cortador de esta categoría.Chau.

When I took it out of the box the cutting wire was hanging loose, broken.Strike one.I put one of the two replacement wires onto the slicer and began cutting cheese.I guess that expectation was a bit too much for it, because by the seventh or eighth slice the second wire broke.Strike Two.So, I put the third and final wire into the unit. Note it had been out of the box for maybe twenty minutes by this point. I managed to finish cutting my slices of cheese without breaking the third wire. But if it fails next time I use it, I will be returning this for a refund. Strike three and it's definitely out.
